A suggested three-day stay

Best approach

One main outing per day

Adapt for

Weather, access and your own energy

Day one · get to know the hill

Begin with the harbour while you are still finding your bearings. Follow the lanes towards St Anthony and continue to St Martin if the climb suits your group. Choose a viewpoint where you can actually sit for a while, rather than trying to photograph them all. Return to the waterfront for an unhurried meal. In the afternoon, investigate Montraker or another suitable stretch of shore. Keep your first day close to your accommodation: travel days rarely need a second journey added to them.

Day two · leave room for Lim Bay

Give the inlet a dedicated part of the day. Choose a land-based view or a boat outing with a confirmed route and departure point. Do not fill the remaining hours automatically. A quiet lunch, a return to a favourite waterfront spot or another swim can be enough. If conditions do not suit the boat trip, move the outing rather than forcing the schedule. This is a sequence of ideas, not a timetable or a guarantee that a particular service operates on your dates.

Day three · art and a neighbouring place

After checking access, give the sculpture park or the story of Montraker your attention. Then change the scene in Funtana: village streets, a meal and time near the fishing harbour. The tourist board describes the Bernardina pedestrian connection between the destinations, which follows the main road rather than a continuous seafront path. Choose your transport according to the heat, daylight and your group’s needs. End back in Vrsar, with time to return to the viewpoint you liked most.

At a glance

A flexible three-day plan

01 / Vrsar

Day one: make the old town your only fixed objective. Begin around the harbour, climb to St Anthony and St Martin, and leave the return through the lanes flexible. Add Montraker for a swim only when energy and conditions suit. This is a suggested sequence, not a timed or guided tour.

02 / Lim

Day two: reserve the most suitable weather window for Lim Bay. Choose a land viewpoint, a published boat excursion or a guided paddle rather than trying to combine all three. Confirm departure and return with the operator before booking dinner or another activity around the excursion.

03 / Valkanela

Day three: visit the Dušan Džamonja Sculpture Park, then choose one shore for a longer pause. On a hot day, shorten the walking; on a cooler day, spend more time with art and the hilltop streets. Seasonal opening details are linked in the art guide, not assumed from the photograph.

Funtana

An optional extension, not an obligation: nearby Funtana changes the pace with a lower coastal village setting. The Bernardina walking connection described by its tourist board follows the main road; do not expect a continuous seafront promenade. Keep enough time and energy for the return or arrange separate transport.

Map links open a place search, not a measured walking route. Allow extra time for slopes and steps; the suggested order is editorial, not a verified accessibility assessment.

A few things to know

Can I fit this into a weekend?

Yes, by choosing fewer stops. Keep the old town and either Lim Bay or Funtana, rather than compressing every idea into two days.

Is this an organised package?

No. It is an independent itinerary suggestion. Any accommodation, transport or activity must be arranged separately.
